Comment utiliser correctement le DX-cluster sur HamSphere V4.0
La qualité des spots s’est considérablement améliorée au cours des précédentes semaines.
Cependant, il y a quelques points important à mettre en lumière.
Un point important rarement abordé est le suivant.

Quand vous entendez un QSO quel opérateur devez-vous spotter?
La règle est simple, il faut spotter celui qui lance les appels initiaux (c’est lui qui possède la fréquence pour un cours laps de temps), l’autre est simplement en transit sur la fréquence donc il est inutile de le spotter
Donc avant de spotter, écoutez bien le temps nécessaire pour savoir qui appelle et c’est lui que vous devez spotter, pas l’autre.
Un deuxième point qui revient souvent dans les questions.
Quand est-ce que je sais que je fais un bon spot utile et pas juste du spam?
Posez-vous ces deux questions et tout sera plus clair.

• Est-ce que cela créer un plus pour moi?
• Est-ce que je vais attirer l’attention sur moi et être remarqué?
• Vais-je modifié la façon de faire de l’opérateur en lui faisant par de mon intérêt?

Si vous répondez oui à l’une de ces questions, alors votre spot est INUTILE.
Le spotting est un service à la communauté (c’est l’esprit du spotting).
Si vous entendez une station que vous voulez spotter, indiquer bien comment vous la recevez et avec quelle antenne (exemple: 5/3 New Dehli 3-el Yagi).
Votre spot doit être informatif et être bénéfique à tous.
Si on tient compte de ces deux points, le spotting sera alors un spotting de haut niveau.

Hello everybody, The quality of the spots on the DX cluster have improved considerably over the last few weeks. However, there are a few points that still need to be highlighted. One very important aspect that has not been addressed too often is the question – When some stations are in QSO, whom do I spot? This is an area where lot of operators make mistakes resulting in chaos… Let us say that I (VU2NSB) occupy a frequency after having called CQ. The frequency now belongs to me, it is my home till I relinquish it. At this point if stations come back to my call they are visitors… Let us say, you hear a very rare DX responds to my CQ/QRZ, what do you do? Do you spot the rare DX? . The answer is a big NO, because he is a transit visitor and after the contact he would QSY, while I would still be calling other stations on that frequency. Therefore, one must never spot a station when he is not holding the frequency. Spots must always be for the holding station.. The best thing to do is to listen for a while and determine who is holding the frequency before deciding to make a spot… and it should only be for the holding station. Another important question that I have been asked quite often is – How can I be sure that I am making a valid spot and not posting spam?.. The answer is again very simple. Ask yourself these question and everything will be crystal clear… By spotting, am I creating a leverage from myself? Am I going to draw attention to myself and be noticed? Am I trying influencing the spotted operator in any way for my vested interests? .. If any of the answer is « yes », then you must NOT spot. Let us remember that spotting is a service to the community. That should be the spirit behind every spot… Let us say, if I were to notice an interesting station (from my perspective), no matter whether he/she is rare or regular and I have ascertained that he is rightfully holding the frequency, then I would perhaps spot him. My spot comment will contain something like the following.. « 5/3 @ New Delhi India, 3-el Yagi » or « 5/7 heard calling CQ @ New Delhi » or « PSK31, 549 @ Delhi, India on V-collinear ». The idea is to inform any other operator who may be interested in working the DX about his presence.. and also to a rough idea to the prospective caller about the prevailing propagation conditions, by citing you signal report and antenna used. The spot should be for the benefit of others and I should not be the beneficiary of my own spot report. Let us all follow these simple rules and maintain high standards on HamSphere..
